So many weapons, so little time appears to be the dominant thought process and standard operating procedure in Washington.
The only thing that ever changes is the targets. Under Obama, Iran caught a break, nearly eight harrassmemt free years. The Iran deal was Obama’s sole foreign policy victory. It was the only peaceful legislation or policy enacted by Obama.
The Trump administration has wrongfully undone the progress and development towards a peaceful, reciprocal relationship between the United States and Iran. Iran has not violated the Iran deal, in any context. The United States has made the egregious error of colluding with the terrorist nation of Israel, which is not our ally since Israel has refused to sign a treaty with the United States, because doing so, would require Israel to draw borders, which is anathema to their policies of expansion, and illegal settlements. Iran has not invaded any foreign nation. Iran has fought ISIS. The U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia have fought with ISIS, supported ISIS, financed ISIS, trained ISIS, and created ISIS.
The United States made the mistake of backing Israel in the Yom Kippur war, since Israel had threatened to rain weapons on the world if we did not support them.

According to journalist Seymour Hersh, via the Alternet :
“Israel received an emergency package of military aid from the US during the 1973 war through “nuclear blackmail,” or threatening to blanket the Middle East in a hail of nuclear destruction if Washington failed to accede to its demands.”

Until 1973, there was what was known as the mandatory import oil program, which restricted oil imports from going above 12.5% of U.S. oil consumption.
In 1973, OPEC nations decided to have an embargo on the U.S., Canada, Japan, England, and the Netherlands for supporting Israel in the Yom Kippur war. Oil had gone from $3 a barrel, to $12 a barrel as a result of the embargo, supposedly, but a 12.5 % limit on oil imports would NOT increase prices by 400%. Particularly when South America could meet the demands!
It seems more likely that the U.S. oil industry disputed the value of the dollar for that percentage to have occurred.
The U.S. had also recently abandoned the gold standard in ‘ 73. The Assistant Secretary of State in 1974 was drum roll please,
Nelson Rockefeller.

The AlterNet has reported:
“Unlike Iran, Israel has refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Profileration Agreement. Away from the scrutiny of international inspectors, Israel has produced scores of nuclear warheads along with aJericho missile delivery system that puts much of Europe within striking range.
Zion Square is the heart of central Jerusalem’s commercial district, a favorite haunt for international revelers, and the site of an increasing number of “Death to Arabs!” marches.
Just inside the occupied West Bank stands a gigantic military prison called Ofer. Inside are Palestinians who have been jailed for crimes against the occupation. Many are children who were arrested, often late at night, by Israeli soldiers and coerced into confessing to stone throwing.
The Real Israel tour would not be complete without a visit to Ofer’s children’s court, where defendants as young as 13 are brought in chains to testify before military judges and prosecutors.
Israel’s best soccer teams in action should make their way down to Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium for a Beitar Jerusalem match. There, they can witness Beitar’s “ultras” — its hardcore fan base — bellow out “Death to Arabs!”
In order to make way for a forest planted by the Jewish National Fund (JNF), a tax exempt US-based non-profit, Israeli bulldozers and riot police havedestroyed Al Araqib over 80 times, forcing its homeless residents to live in the village cemetery while billing them $500,000 for the demolitions.
This country belongs to us, the white man.” Those were the words of former Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai, who promised non-Jewish African migrants
Israel is an oppressive, disruptive, corrosive, terrorist nation, and all partnerships with Israel, Netenyahu, the Knesset, Mossad, AIPAC, and JSteet must cease at once. ”

Escalating this rush to war is the Israel lobby, which is the most poweful lobby didctating foreign policy in America. Dual citizenship by anyone in any government position must end at once. It is asking for treason, and it has been answered with treason, which has caused extensive, severe, endangerment to our national security at every level. It has bankrupted our country. It has bankrupted our international credibility. It has bankrupted the credibility of the federal government with the American public, and it has bankrupted our future generations.
Saudi Arabia is equally responsible for the corrosive policies listed above regarding Israel and relationships with Saudi Arabia must also end at once.
In 1953, Kermit Roosevelt incited a coup against the democratically elected President Mossadegh of Iran, because Mossadegh wanted to nationalize oil. Roosevelt created rumors among fringe dissident groups, pitting them against each other, with the plan to install the Shah Pahlavi who would be willing to allow the United States and England to exploit and control the oil of Iran for our own interests, profits, and use.
In 1979, Jimmy Carter and his administration colluded with the exiled Ayatollah Khomeini, who was in France at that time, to overthrow the Shah, and back the Islamic revolution in Iran and the Ayatollah Khomeini.

In 1980, the United States supported Saddam Hussein in the Iran – Iraq war, which lasted for eight years, and has conservatively killed 500,000 people, and some estimates have claimed that it had killed 2.5 million. The United States supplied Iraq with chemical weapons to be used against the Iranians.
After so many deaths of young men in their twenties, the Iranians started drafting sixteen year olds. The young warriors, were handed colored toy plastic keys and where told that they would allow them to enter through the gates of heaven. They used the teenage boys, to run across landmines, clearing the way for the military.
In 2011, the CIA attempted another coup which failed, in the Green Revolution, and it appears that they had assassinated the young bride Neda, in an effort to incite riots against the Iranian government.

In this need to create an enemy, to support the justification of financing the gargantuan military industrial complex,
the United States Navy has continued to violate UNCLOS agreements under the 1958 Geneva Convention, in the Straits of Hormuz. Over ninety percent of the oil from the Persian Gulf region passes through the Straits of Hormuz. Under international law, Iran has the right to restrict passage of ships that have threatened their international sovereignty. I don’t think that picking a fight with Iran would be in our national interest.
Since the Iran deal trade between Iran and the E.U. has increased by 93%. The Trump administration’s demonization of the nation of the Iran has resulted in the E.U. rushing to the assistance of Putin. Which is absolutely ironic, since we weaponized the E.U. at their request, to protect them against Putin! We began this process prior to Trump even winning the election. There are now military operations and missiles in the countries of Germany, Sweden, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Latvia, and the Netherlands.

The M.E.K. also known as the Mujahudeen, is the only terrorist group in Iran, and wouldn’t you know it, it is the only group supported by our government, who were removed from the international terrorist list at the urging of John McCain, Lindsey Graham and the other war mongering neoconservatives and neoliberals.
I think that Paul Craig Roberts summed it up best when he said that going to war with Iran, seems to have become a habit.

The crazy thing in all of this is that it was the Persian Cyrus the Great that had freed the Israelites, created the first Bill of Rights, allowed freedom of religion, and created a republic and a system of international trade, and currency.
